Zirconia Veneers
Zirconia Veneers - these are dental pads made on a zirconium frame, on top of which a ceramic mass is applied.
The frame of the structure is made using modern CAD / CAM technology, the use of which eliminates the human factor, and, consequently, the possibility of error.
Zirconium veneers can be used in difficult clinical situations and are able to provide high aesthetics for the following reasons:
- Teeth with pads look like real ones.
- In any light, the teeth are snow-white.
- The surface of the linings is not stained with drinks and tobacco.
- Over time, do not fade or change color.
Features
- The material is fully biocompatible with human tissues and does not cause allergies.
- Veneers are very reliable and durable. Zirconium is much stronger than metal and twice as lighter.
- The material does not respond to temperature changes.
- Compared to ceramic plates, zirconium veneers have a longer service life.
Indications
Zirconia-based veneers are recommended in the following cases:
- If necessary, align the dentition and close large gaps between the teeth.
- To disguise discolored old fillings.
- In the presence of spots caused by fluorosis.
- To close defects such as chips, abrasions, cracks from prying eyes.
Minuses
The disadvantages of the pads made on zirconium dioxide are that:
- Veneers are very expensive.
- Technically difficult manufacturing of plates, since they require high accuracy, and the material itself is difficult to fix to the tooth.
- For the manufacture of linings requires the presence of special expensive equipment.
- When installing zirconium veneer, there is a need for more significant sharpening of the tooth.
- With improper dental care, the platinum can break or peel. With the usual peeling of the structure it can be returned to its place. In the event of a breakdown of the plate - do not do without making a new one.
- The inability to restore the original appearance of the teeth after installing the lining.
How to install
The whole process from manufacturing to fixing veneers takes about one week. During this time, the doctor will need to visit twice.
At the first visit:
- The shape and color of the future lining is selected.
- The tooth is turned. An enamel layer is removed from the front surface of the tooth to the thickness of the installed zirconia veneer.
- The doctor takes a three-dimensional cast, on which the veneer will be modeled using a computer program. This information will be transferred to a milling machine, which independently turns the workpiece.
- A temporary structure made of a composite is fixed on the turned tooth, which remains until the installation of a permanent veneer. This measure is necessary, as it helps to protect the turned part of the tooth from infection.
When you visit the dentist again, the veneer made is fixed using a special material.
Cost
The cost of installing a zirconia veneer includes: turning the tooth, taking casts, choosing the color of the structure, trying on the finished cover and fixing it to the tooth.
The cost of veneer on a zirconia frame is from 24000 rubles for one design.
