The whitening effect is already noticeable after two to three treatments.

How often can i use soda

If the enamel is clarified no more than once a week, then the procedure will not do much harm to the teeth.

But with excessive use of the product, the likelihood of destruction of tooth enamel and the development of caries increases.

How to prepare for the procedure

Before you start bleaching your teeth with soda, you need to strengthen them by saturating the enamel with calcium and fluorine.

  • For this, it is necessary to include dairy products, greens and vegetables, seafood, cereals in the diet.
  • Mandatory intake of vitamin complexes.
  • As an additional measure, the use of fluoride toothpaste for oral hygiene is recommended.

Teeth must be strengthened for at least three to four weeks.

  • Dissolving soda in water to a mushy state.

For the procedure, you need a toothbrush, or a cotton-gauze swab.

  • After wetting the brush or swab in the prepared solution, carefully brush your teeth, avoiding the solution getting on the mucous membranes of the oral cavity.
  • If dry soda is used, then the powder is applied to a swab or a toothbrush previously moistened with water.

To eliminate the unpleasant taste in the mouth, you can mix soda with toothpaste.

Folk recipes

When whitening teeth with soda, lemon, hydrogen peroxide, and strawberries are used as additional components.

Peroxide Whitening

  • Add hydrogen peroxide (3%) to a tablespoon of soda until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
  • This mixture can be used as a regular toothpaste.
  • The time of exposure to the teeth should not be more than three minutes.
  • Then the mouth must be very well rinsed with water.

With this method, the result is visible after one application.

The use of soda and strawberries for teeth whitening

To prepare the mixture, you need half a teaspoon of soda powder several pieces of ripe strawberries.

  • Crumpled strawberries are mixed with baking soda until a homogeneous mass is formed.
  • The mixture is applied to the teeth in a circular motion and left for several minutes.
  • After five minutes, rinse the oral cavity well with water and apply toothpaste containing fluoride to the teeth.
  • Then rinse your mouth with warm water.

Soda is applied to the toothbrush, and a little lemon juice is squeezed on top and brushing your teeth.

This mixture has a very strong whitening effect, but also has a rather negative effect on tooth enamel.

Peroxide, Lemon and Soda Whitening Blend

To do this, mix:

  • Half a teaspoon of lemon juice and soda.
  • 3% hydrogen peroxide - a few drops.

Apply the mixture to your teeth with your fingers, and after two minutes spit it out and rinse your mouth well. After the procedure, refrain from eating food and drinks (cold and hot) for one and a half hours. This method allows you to get excellent results, but it is not recommended to use it more often than twice a week.

If we talk about the effectiveness of the last two methods of whitening, they can not only not give the desired effect, but also cause irreparable harm to the teeth.

  • When mixing soda with lemon, as is known from a chemistry course, salt and water are formed. This mixture may not have a whitening effect. If there is more soda in the composition, then the enamel will become whiter, and if there is more acid, then besides the enamel dissolving, nothing will happen.
  • In the latter case, it turns out that only peroxide, which severely damages the enamel, whitens the teeth.
